New DFG project: PHANTOM
We are excited to dig deep into the field of 2D materials and together with Dr. Petr Dementyev from Bielefeld University, we have been recently granted a research project PHANTOM by the DFG. It is intended to study molecular permeation across free-standing 2D oxides such as bilayer silica. To enable the mass transport experiments with 2D-SiO
2, 2D-GeO
2, our part of the PHANTOM project aims at developing novel synthetic protocols for growing large-area films by means of atomic layer deposition (ALD).
