A first binational PhD in the IMC Group. PhD Defense of David
We are proud of David who successfully defended his thesis on 15.12.2022 and obtained a binational PhD which he deserved for his outstanding achievement. The defense was held in a hybrid format. The examiners that were present in person included Prof. Sean Barry (Carleton University, Canada), Prof. Erwin Kessels (TU/E, Eindhoven, The Netherlands), Prof. Peter Awakowicz (AEPT, RUB) and Prof. Anjana Devi (RUB). The defense was chaired by Prof. Raphael Stoll. Other examiners from Carleton University namely Prof. Anatoli Ianoul and Prof.Reza Kholghy with Prof. Robert Burk being the co-chair of the defense participated via Zoom.
David’s performance was outstanding. David has 25 peer reviewed publications to his name which is an extraordinary performance. Given, that this thesis defense was the first of its kind to adhere to the examination rules from both participating universities, it was a unique and challenging experience for the candidate as well as the examiners. Hats off to David for his commendable efforts!
