Check out our new cover feature now published in Chemistry – A European Journal which was designed by our PhD student Nils Boysen. It illustrates the pursuit of new precursors for the deposition of coinage metals by atomic layer deposition (ALD). In this study a series of new N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-based CuI and AgI complexes has been synthesized, analyzed, and evaluated for their potential use in ALD. One precursor was found to be particularly useful for the deposition of metallic copper in a fruitful collaboration with researchers from the group of Maarit Karppinen (Aalto University, Finland).Click here to read the paper or check out the full story by clicking of the cover image below.
